Welcome to The Frontier Medical Institutes of Colorado
Our physicians and staff wish to welcome you to our medical practice. We are pleased to offer many of the latest advances in alternative and functional medicine to our patients. Our philosophy is “to heal without harm.” We try to employ the best tools from both conventional and alternative therapies to assist our patients maintain or regain their health. Therapeutic tools from the world of alternative or complementary medicine we use include nutritional medicine, chelation and oxidative intravenous therapies; anti-aging medicine including natural hormone replacement; neural therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
SOME OF WHAT WE DO:
Nutritional Medicine
The focus of nutritional medicine is to treat the causes of disease with nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and herbs. This is to be differentiated from conventional medical therapies, which typically emphasize “symptom control” as their primary goal. Most of our “prescriptions” are typically filled at health food stores or at our own supplement counter. The intravenous use of nutrients such as vitamin C and magnesium plays an important role in our therapeutic approach. We have developed over 300 separate protocols for the nutritional treatment of various diseases and conditions. Several of these are listed elsewhere on our website. (Health Protocols). We are pleased to offer the services of our staff
nutritionist, who helps to teach and assist our patients with diet and other lifestyle recommendations.
Chelation Therapy
Chelation Therapy involves the administration of an amino acid, EDTA, to chelate (bind and remove) heavy metal toxins from the body. In so doing, powerful anti-oxidant effects occur and enzyme systems are restored. Many patients report significant relief from symptoms of angina as well as general improvement in energy with chelation therapy. Used by almost 1,000 physicians nationwide, the list of diseases and conditions which chelation seems to benefit is extensive.
Oxidative Therapy
As offered in our clinic, oxidative therapy consists of intravenous administration of very dilute, ultra-purified solutions of hydrogen peroxide. This therapy helps to destroy harmful pathological organisms such as Candida and Epstein-Barr virus. Beneficial normalizing effects on the immune system occur as well. It is of particular benefit to patients with chronic infections like herpes and hepatitis and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The symptoms of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus are often significantly reduced.
Anti-aging Medicine (including natural hormone replacement)
Anti-aging medicine approaches the “inevitable” decline of health and faculties accompanying the later stages of life as a disease state. We, along with many other physicians and scientists, now believe it is possible to maintain youthful vigor into the mature decades of life, thanks to recent advances in the brand new field of anti-aging medicine. Through the use of natural hormone replacement, including human growth hormone, by restoring the levels of these hormones to those found in our youth, we are often able to help slow down or even reverse the clock. Patients presenting to our clinic for anti-aging medicine undergo an extensive series of tests to pinpoint precisely what areas of life and lifestyle could be modified to best restore youthful vigor and energy. We employ specialized testing to determine biological age and then design an individualized program of diet, exercise, nutritional supplementation, detoxification and hormone replacement for each person. Special arrangements are made to consolidate our complete testing for out-of-town visitors.
Neural Therapy and Acupuncture
There exists within each of us a complex grid of parallel and interlocking energy pathways. Acupuncture and neural therapy (a potentized German variation of acupuncture) allow us to tap into this complex highway of vibrational flow to improve energy and enhance the ability of the body to heal itself.

TESTS OFFERED
Before embarking on a course of treatment for our patients, we must first work together to establish current health status and level of functioning. We typically perform a complete history and physical on each new patient, followed by a series of tests designed to elucidate his or her functional status. Many of the tests we perform are not routinely available in conventional facilities. Here is a partial list of some of the tests offered at our clinic:
- Digestive function testing: Heidelberg gastric acidity testing, intestinal permeability, stool & digestive analysis, parasitology
- Cardiovascular function testing: Vascular Doppler studies, electrocardiography including exercise treadmill testing
- Blood and saliva testing: Standard blood panels, as well as a number of less usual tests such as hormone levels (DHEA, hGH), available both with blood and salivary hormone testing; candida immune complexes, food allergies, cardiovascular profiles including lp (a) and homocysteine, plasma amino acids and many others. Levels of free radicals in the bloodstream as well as anti-oxidant protection are measured.
- Allergy testing: Food and inhalant allergy testing is offered.
- Body fat testing: Electronic impedance measuring accurate to within tenths of a percent
- Heavy metal testing: Hair mineral testing and urine analyses to determine body burden of heavy metals including mercury
